WHAT WE OFFER

Develop and implement business plans and strategies to increase value-added business in existing and future markets.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop, plan and implement new business development and marketing activities, increasing demand for Engineering Plastics (EP) Business Entity products and enhancing Covestro (COV) market visibility.
• Develops relationships and work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) engineers and designers (strategic influencers and decision makers), focusing on embryonic / growth market opportunities to gain specification of EP resins in their products.
• Works closely with Direct and Distributor sales representative to pull new specifications through to sales.
• Collaborates with market managers and account team members to develop and implement account strategies, marketing plans; and with business support personnel, addressing OEM technical issues.
• Oversees Application Development (AD) projects. Interfaces between OEMs and AD group for product and application development, utilizing COV systems e.g. Cloud 4 Customers (C4C).
• Corresponds with global counterparts within COV, for specifications leading to international sales. Resolves technical, commercial and project issues through frequent and direct contact with engineering and business functions, both within the OEMs, tiers and COV.
• Maintains up-to-date information regarding the contacts and COV business. (C4C, opportunities, risks, specifications, sales from specifications, key projects).

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree discipline in mechanical, plastics, engineering or chemistry highly preferred
• Previous experience in market/business development
• Previous experience in sales 

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with external customers and multidisciplinary groups within COV
• Strong sales (negotiation) capabilities and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed technical and sales skills are necessary in order to maintain credibility and respect at the OEMs
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of COV internal structure, personnel and capabilities
• Excellent listening skills are required in order to fully grasp account viewpoints
• Ability to motivate, coach and direct abroad spectrum of people without having direct authority over them; effectively work across matrices and command respect of his/her peer group and the market
• Ability to work independently with self-motivation, enthusiasm, achievement orientation, flexibility and teamwork
• Ability to relocate in the future
