Job Title: Capability Lead – Systems Engineering Validation & Verification

Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN/Hybrid - 3 Office Days/Week)

As the Capability Manager for the Systems Engineering Validation & Verification team, you will be responsible for leading, develop and engage assigned Engineering personnel to meet current and future business requirements, deploying assigned staff to approved business activities/technical programs, owning and supporting definition of the appropriate section of the Engineering strategies, ensuring  compliance to process throughout the life cycle activity as well as ensuring that world class capability is effectively utilized to provide products and services that satisfy business requirements.

What you will be doing

  • Providing technical leadership to the Engineering resource group and ensure compliance to process throughout the life cycle activity
  • Creating and maintaining resource plans to meet the overall delivery commitments
  • Ensuring that sufficient resource is available, through subcontract and recruitment (while adhering to Company resource policy) to meet current and future business’ needs and budgets.
  • Owning the appropriate section of the business strategy/program and ensure that the capabilities and resources necessary to deliver the strategy have been identified.
  • Ensuring effective performance management; in particular ensuring that employees have relevant & appropriate objectives through the Business Plan Deployment Process
  • Leading and developing the members of their team within and beyond their respective disciplines, including individual and professional development, training, performance and reward management, HSE and security
  • Ensuring staff are suitably qualified and experienced and that the required skills are sustainable for the future through multi-skilling, staff rotation, and the competency framework tools and professional networks and standards
  • Contributing to current and future business strategy/program requirements and supporting the budget and load and capacity process
  • Be the focal point for communication within and on behalf of the Resource Group
  • Leading the functional interfaces and to ensure that appropriate reviews takes place throughout the engineering lifecycle processes involving appropriate experienced specialists and leaders.
  • Ensuring the highest professional standards are met through use of agreed corporate methodology and processes and provide checks and balances to ensure that regulatory and business requirements are satisfied
  • Ensuring effective knowledge management through the use of knowledge capture, lessons learnt, and best practice guides for the resource group, and encourage knowledge sharing within the group and beyond
  • Leading and driving efficiency through process review, teamwork and implementing continuous improvement and operational best practice within the field of work.
  • Where appropriate, owning the relationship between engineering and the supply chain and ensure it is effectively managed and integrated
  • Applying Health, Safety and the Environment policy including a commitment to continuous improvement
