Job Description
NOTE:
This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening. Due to Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens or US Permanent Residents, holding a green card, will be considered.
Team
The Capacity Engine team, part of the CIPS (Cloud Infrastructure Platform Services) organization, is in charge of designing and building top-tier automations to run the back end of ServiceNow’s platform-as-a-service infrastructure.
The ServiceNow platform engineer’s primary responsibility will be to develop scoped applications and supporting code that can integrate between ServiceNow and other enterprise business systems. This role will also be responsible for the enablement of new modules, support enhancements, and the development of integrations that will leverage new and existing platform APIs. This role will involve automating systems level processes, so knowledge of Linux operating systems, storage, and networking will play a role in the specific applications being developed on this team.
What you get to do in this role:
- Develop scoped applications that will utilize all of the ServiceNow’s platform functionality, using server-side JavaScript, ServiceNow Flows, and related technologies.
- Develop and support the integration of 3rd party systems with ServiceNow; MID server, web services (REST), and SSH actions.
- Create and maintain API and data integrations between ServiceNow and other services
- Be a contributor on how ServiceNow can be used to integrate to new and existing technologies.
- Write supporting code, as needed, in other languages such as Python
- Write technical documentation for peers, management, and support personnel
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with the development, configuration, implementation and support of production and non-production ServiceNow instances is required.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript is required
- A rich knowledge of both ITIL and ITSM disciplines is required
- ServiceNow Application Developer and System Administrator Certifications are nice to have
- Demonstrated proficiency with the use and management of APIs
- Knowledge of infrastructure services spanning Linux servers, storage, network, security and cloud is desired
- Development experience in Python is nice to have
- Some knowledge of Azure, AWS, or both is a nice-to-have
GCS-23
For positions in the Seattle metro/Kirkland areas, we offer a base pay of $137,000 - $233,000, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factor
