Provides technical support with the design and troubleshooting of automated autoloading and packaging equipment to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.
Applies technical knowledge with regards to mechanical sealing and thermoforming, PLC’s, Vision Systems, Robots, Servos, etc. to resolve problems in the packaging and manufacturing process.
Hands-on apply technical knowledge to resolve machine and process issues with regards to mechanical, electrical, f high-speed automated loading equipment and packaging equipment. Hands-on performs corrective and preventive maintenance. Develop initiatives to improve efficiency on all machines under his responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on development improvements to high-speed packaging equipment with automated loading equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices.

• Performs troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-speed loading and packaging equipment.

• Use his technical knowledge and experience in programming and troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve the performance of the packaging equipment based in the following technologies:

  •  Strong knowledge and experience in thermoforming of plastics and films, such as FFS Multivac and Tiromat GEA.

  •  Strong knowledge on packaging processes such FFS indexing machines, continuos flow, autobaggers, such as Multivac, Tiromat GEA, Sharps, Viking Marek, Volpak, Foremost Fuji, Alloyd/ Belco.

  •  Experience in ultrasonic welding,

  •  InkJet printers (Domino, Lynx, Markem Image, Keyence).

  •  Experience in thermos transfer printers, flexographic printers and digital printers. Such as Bell Mark, Greydon.

  •  Robots: FANUC, ABB, Epson and Stäubli (basic experience with pick and place applications)

  •  Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition is a plus for autoloading applications.

  •  Development and programming Vision Systems such as Cognex (Insight 5000, 2000, micro, Keyence CVX, IV, Banner).

  •  Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers).

  •  Pneumatics and electropneumatic, mechanical knowledge, electronics knowledge.

• Follow all safety procedures and identify/communicate the necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).

• Work with BD production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are met.

• Maintain primary communication of performance goals and requirements identified by management.

• Support CAPA activities as required (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to address systemic issues in the manufacturing and quality systems.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering,  Mechatronics Engineering or similar
