This position is a member of the surgical team and provides care to the patient during the peri-operative period. Possess knowledge and understanding of the types of procedures performed with the correct application of the instruments used. Arranges the instrumentation to achieve maximum efficiency during an operative procedure, anticipates the needs of the surgeon, maintains the integrity of the sterile field, and participates in counts.

Schedule: Day Shift - 10 hours | Full-Time

As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll:

• Master the art of surgical precision by arranging instruments for maximum efficiency.

• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and play a key role in ensuring smooth procedures.

• Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic techniques to uphold patient safety.

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other specialists to deliver patient-centered care.

• Set up and evaluate equipment to ensure everything is in top working condition.

• Participate in counts and assist in the handling of surgical specimens.

• Assist in patient transfer and post-op care with professionalism and compassion.

What We’re Looking For:

• Certification through the certifying body of the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc. preferred or 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist

• AHA BLS Certification (or must be obtained within 2 months of hire)

• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work independently when needed

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to new software

• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and patient safety

Qualifications:

• LH Medical Center assignment: 

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience or certification required.

  • Surgical Technologist experience preferred in all of the below areas:

    • Dental

    • ENT

    • General Surgery

    • Neurosurgery

    • OB/GYN

    • Orthopedics

    • Pediatric Neurosurgery

    • Pediatrics

    • Plastics/Breasts

    • Podiatry

    • Robotics

    • Surgical Oncology

• Surgical Technologist Certification through the certifying body of the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc. preferred.

• Current AHA BLS Certification or must successfully obtain within two (2) months of hire.

• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

• Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
