Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in Chicago, IL.

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Performs entry-level work.
• Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
• Meets required schedules while producing quality work.

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
• Candidate must have completed 1 year of study.
• As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a substance abuse test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• This position may offer relocation assistance.
• In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment by AECOM.
• Offered rate of compensation (Illinois locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.  The hourly range for this position is $14 - $25/hr.
