The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives.   As a global leader in diabetes care, Abbott is constantly working to deliver the highest quality products and unwavering support to our customers.  Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As a Senior Project Leader, you will be involved in planning, coordinating, integrating, and driving projects associated with on market product changes, new product introduction launches, and corporate initiatives, e.g. UDI, countries labeling and compliance requirements. The manager must provide leadership and direction to a team of program managers, and project managers, to drive the successful execution of on-market product change projects and programs. The role requires strong working relationships with other functions and leaders to ensure projects get delivered on time and as intended. This position will be based in Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, coordinate, integrate, and drive projects associated with functional and divisional needs (e.g. on-market product changes, new product introduction launches, and for corporate initiatives) 
  • Co-ordinate resource and activities with cross functional peers (e.g. Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Marketing and Commercial peers alongside all WW Operations functions including Manufacturing, Third-Party-Manufacturing, Artwork and Packaging, Engineering, Procurement and Sourcing)
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of program managers, project managers, co-ordinators and artists to drive the successful execution of product related, on market change projects
  • Prioritize activities across multiple projects to balance resource availability, project status and schedule, and business need. Work with functional leadership to anticipate and solve problems, and work to break down barriers to success
  • Represent function with Management and Senior Staff at multiple business management and project update forums.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs that deliver on the business strategy and drive higher performance across the organization.
  • Manage cost improvement programs and manage spend within the parameters of the departmental budget

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Technical Discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 5 years working in a regulated medical (ideally device or in vitro Diagnostic) environment
