Operations Consultant

The Operations Consultant will work closely with other Operations Consultants, Training team members, and business development staff on various solid waste related projects. You will be responsible for providing facility operations advice to solid waste clients and training client staff how to operate heavy equipment at solid waste facilities. You will also assist our Training Program Manager in improving or developing subject matter for courses as well as training attendees. You will also assist our Director of Business Development with client relations and developing business opportunities.
Duties:
- Provide operational consulting services to clients, including ways in which to improve compaction, safety, and environmental compliance; reading and following fill sequencing plans; offering advice on purchasing equipment, managing budgets, and improving traffic flow
- Train client staff how to operate heavy equipment in solid waste facilities
- Teach classroom operator training courses
- Assist with developing or improving course materials
- Assist engineers by reviewing design plans for constructability and compatibility with facility operations
- Meet with current and prospective clients and develop business opportunities
- Position will require some travel to clients’ facilities
Requirements
- Minimum 20 years of solid waste facility operations experience.
- Knowledge of operating heavy equipment in solid waste facilities
- Ideal candidate has the traits of a team player who is enthusiastic about all aspects of solid waste management.
- Must have good communication skills, be a team player and be able to relate well to project team, clients, regulators, and contractors
