Senior Administrator, Information Technology

Job Description

 

Reports To:        Director of Information Technology (or designee)

FLSA Status: Exempt

School Classification: Classified

Pay Schedule: Range 14 ($106,415 - $137,700)

Work Schedule: 225 days/12 months

Location: Onsite and Remote Office 

 

 

Position Summary:  Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Senior Administrator, Information Technology (IT) will serve as a key advisor to the Director, providing essential support in managing IT operations, projects, and strategic initiatives. The  Senior Administrator, IT will lead the development, implementation, and support of technology solutions that align with the school's goals. This role requires expertise in project management, AWS cloud environments, systems development, and a strong background in K-12 education technology.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Overarching Duties and Abilities for All Sage Oak Senior Administrators:

 

 

 

Technology Leadership and Strategy:

 

  1. Collaborates with the Director of IT to develop and implement technology strategies that support school objectives

  2. Leads initiatives in AWS environment management, including architecture design, implementation, and maintenance

  3. Acts as a liaison between IT and other departments, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and educational needs

  4. Stays current with trends in K-12 educational technology and recommends innovative solutions to enhance the virtual teaching and learning experience

 

Project Management:

 

  1. Manages IT projects from conception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

  2. Develops project plans, sets milestones, manages resources, and ensures effective communication across all stakeholders

  3. Leads cross-functional project teams to implement new technology initiatives, including system upgrades and integration projects

 

Systems Development and Support

 

  1. Oversees the development and maintenance of school custom systems, ensuring these systems meet the needs of staff, students, and administrators

  2. Provides technical leadership in systems development, including the design and deployment of new systems and enhancements to existing systems

  3. Ensures the ongoing support and reliability of critical school systems, including data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery plans



Team Leadership

 

  1. Supports the Director of IT in managing department staff, including mentoring and providing professional development opportunities.

  2. Leads and manages the IT team, providing direction and support to ensure high performance and effective collaboration

  3. Assists in the hiring and onboarding of new IT staff members, ensuring alignment with the school's technology vision

 

AWS Environment Management

 

  1. Designs, deploys, and manages cloud infrastructure in AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency

  2. Implements best practices for cloud infrastructure management, including cost optimization, resource allocation, and system monitoring

  3. Develops and maintains documentation related to cloud architecture and system configurations

 

Operational and Technical Support

 

  1. Provides hands-on technical support when needed, particularly for complex issues that require advanced expertise
