Business Manager, Operating Room Suite, Mount Sinai West - Full Time
The Business Manager has oversight of all financial and related activities for a Perioperative department or division. Manages departmental charge capture, staffing payroll reconciliation, BCR reports, and financial office. Should be able to gather and analyze Perioperative Data from multiple sources (e.g. budget department, clinical operations, and patient satisfaction) to extract trends and business insights.
- Responsible for financial analysis and creation of reports as requested by department Director of Business or VP as applicable.
- Ensures that the day-to-day financial operations of the department, center or unit, including payroll, month-end reporting, accounts payable activities are handled.
- The gathering and integrating data from disparate sources for productivity, compliance and profit/loss reports
- Evaluate and preprocess raw information
- Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns
- Present and explain information in an accessible way (eg. Budget reporting, Epic nursing QI Reporting)
- Prepares accruals reports, OTPS reconciliation, requests for Capital funding
- Building models and analyzing data to unearth trends and patterns that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics
- Must be well versed and take a proactive role in the revenue cycle, which includes all administrative and clinical functions that contribute to the capture, management and collection of patient service revenue, including overseeing those who may have accountability for inputting charges
- Reviews processes and makes recommendations to implement effective changes in procedures and policies
- Oversees Administrator Assistants, Coordinators, Financial Specialists and other staff, ensuring that they are appropriately trained in workflow processes and procedures, specific to the department.
- Initiates Human Resources transactions and follows up.
- Assists with or leads special projects and provides analytical support.
Education:
- BSc/BA in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
- Knowledge of EPIC specifically OPTIME preferred
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Proven experience as a Perioperative/Healthcare Data Analyst
- Experience in data analysis and visualization methods
- Understanding of Perioperative procedures
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and problem-solving aptitude

Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $86,772.00 - $130,159.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
