Senior Software Engineer

The Substrate App Platform group is part of M365 Core Platform organization. This is an interesting point in time of new wave of innovations in the Substrate enhancing its scale and high-value data to deliver intelligent and search experiences to end users.

 

We are forming a new team focused on enabling the adoption of the Rust programming language as the foundation to modernizing global scale platform services, and beyond. There is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to ll include guiding technical direction, design and implementation of Rust component libraries, SDKs, and contributing to the building of global scale services in Rust.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers across E+D and Microsoft to build the next-gen scale platform in the Substrate.
• Have a crucial role in architecture, design and implementation of key infrastructure, and scalable programming paradigms that will accelerate development velocity for new scenarios and enable more developers to build services on the Substrate.
• Build a mission critical high-scale subsystem from scratch.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Experience shipping large scale, high-volume services.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commitment to developing software and service with high quality and engineering standard.
  
• Team player and excellent communication skills.
