Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm

PAY RANGE: $23.47 - $32.85 (Depends on Experience)

Job Description: 

PATIENT POPULATION:
The patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Nursing Administration leader, the Nursing Operations Coordinator is responsible for administrative and clerical support to the nusing leaders by coordinating: staffing, meetings, training, generates and maintains statistical reports, research material gathering and other requested duties. Requires effective verbal and written communication skills. Discretion, good judgment, organizational ability and initiative are especially important for this position. Under the general direction of the Nursing Administration leader, the Nursing Operations Coordinator will work in collaboration with the ED Care Level Analyst to process all patient related charges.

Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Two years minimum experience in a Healthcare position, preferred. Requires significant capacity to manage multiple competing objectives, and to complete complex statistical information/reports. Must be proficient in the English language to include accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation. Must have knowledge of Medical Terminology or the ability to learn some. Capability of exercising independent judgment regarding administrative policy, regulations and procedures.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Strong command of correct English language both written and oral. Capable of generating reports and correspondence independently and without errors.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Considerable demand for perception, comprehension, and memorization.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Microsoft Outlook. Must be accurate and proficient in typing and use of dictation / transcription equipment.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or obtain within one (1) year of assignment to department. Associate Degree, preferred.
