Quality Control Lab Technician II - 3rd Shift

About the role

This position is responsible for testing production batches according to specific written testing methods and identifying issues of both in-spec and out-of-spec data. The lab technician will interpret results and historical data to ensure the product meets or exceeds the customers’ requirements for quality as well as provide instructions to production personnel regarding adjustments to batches as needed. 

Additional Information:

3rd Shift - Sunday - Thursday 10:30p.m. - 7:00a.m.

  • Batch approval- assures that all tests are completed, and results meet all specifications before going to the next production process.
  • Perform all colored pigment adds to batches
  • Enter all batches’ data into EBR including batch deviations
  • Generate appropriate paperwork as needed per the customer specifications.
  • Gather and send customer samples as required.
  • Follows all standard technical procedures and exercises good judgment and initiatives. Able to accomplish assigned work with little supervision.
  • Perform and document all laboratory equipment calibration checks
  • If necessary, follows appropriate raw material test methods and may file related paperwork. Gather, stock and manage product retain area.
  • Utilizes appropriate computer systems to ensure effective testing of products.
  • Determines disposition of non-compliant finished goods, such as first case/last case.
  • Places non-conforming material on hold as needed.
  • Supports the ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.
  • Maintains inventory of lab supplies, stocks them when received, and requests them when we are low.
  • May be required to work a different shift to cover for vacations, overtime, call-ins, etc.
  • Maintains Lab housekeeping and cleans all test equipment.
  • Must adhere to all safety requirements of job.
  • Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.
  • Review batch slip for completeness and accuracy.
  • Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future 
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in the STEM field or one (1) year laboratory and/or manufacturing experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have at least two (2) years of lab experience or college laboratory course work
  • Have at least two (2) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
