MAINTENANCE IS A VALUED DEPARTMENT
The Polywood Maintenance Department strives to repair anything from complex electrical, mechanical or pneumatic issues to doing preventative maintenance on machines. Our goal is to eliminate downtime and be proactive in keeping machines running as they should. We also strive to keep our plants and offices clean and neat with our on site cleaning and grounds crews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
- Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears and bearings.
- Replaces or repairs machine belts.
- Removes dust, dirt, grease and waste material from machines.
- Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
- Bends and cuts conduit and wire, and drills holes in walls, floors and ceilings for electrical connections.
- Connects wire to motors, fixtures and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
- Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings and floors for pipes and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
- Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches shelves and other furnishings.
- Patches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls, ceilings and trim of building.
- Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
- Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
- Furnishes Industrial Maintenance Repairer with materials, tools, and supplies.
- Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
- Performs other routine duties.
- Research cost effective pricing per assignment by management for purchasing maintenance supplies, materials, parts, tools, machines and equipment as directed.
Requirements
- 5+ years general maintenance experience with at least 1 year minimum experience in the following areas: Mig, tig and stick welding experience as well as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, glass repair/replacement, read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics and control circuitry as well as ability to layout, design and implement 120-480 volt single and three phase high voltage wiring circuits
- Experience with electrical and pneumatic tool repair, vacuum pumps and systems, CNC driven machinery, heating elements, bands and temperature controllers
- Run/route/hang/bend electrical conduit and size loads from an electrical panel
- Various electrical, mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical motor horsepowers and troubleshoot failures
- Basic safety procedures and programs such as lockout/tag out
- Background check required
