Job Description
TRUEWERK seeks a forward-thinking, highly motivated VP of Operations in Denver, CO. This individual will be a member of the leadership team and will report to the CFO. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated been-there, done-that, consumer products company operations management experience that is necessary to help us grow our people, processes, and systems to the next level. Encompassing a highly collaborative style, and an operational, financial, and technology background, this person will support the elevation of the brand and develop and improve the operational infrastructure for future growth. TRUEWERK is seeking an experienced leader to be a partner to the CFO on key operational aspects of the business.
In this role, this person will:
- Directly manage team members leading the functions of Demand Planning, Supply & Production Planning, inbound logistics, 3PL distribution center operations, outbound logistics and IT/BI.
- Partner with CFO to build strategies, business and systems foundations, including improving technology and reporting that will allow the company to scale effectively.
- Bring experience in building an omni-channel and digital brand with strong financial acumen to encourage healthy and sustainable growth.
- Build operational, managerial, and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operational controls.
Supply Chain Management & Planning
- Build and maintain relationships across global factory base.
- Enhance factory base with best-in-class mills and factories globally.
- Work closely with Product Development and finance teams to drive ongoing gross margin improvement through reduction in product costs, freight costs, and duties and taxes.
- Demand Planning.
- Continually improve our demand planning capabilities across existing and upcoming sales channels, including Ecommerce, B2B (Enterprise), Marketplaces (third party ecommerce sites) and wholesale.
- Supply & Production Planning.
- Develop and continually improve a robust production planning processes closely tied to demand planning and the long-term growth plan of the business.
- Develop repeatable capacity planning processes that allow increased engagement and planning with our factory partners.
- Develop repeatable fabric planning processes closely tied to demand planning.
- Regular interaction and communication with our factory base. Placing, monitoring, and adjusting orders while clearly communicating to affected operating teams and regions.
- Define and report to the Company and Board of Directors on relevant KPIs.
- Inbound Logistics.
- Actively manage inbound logistics process, including evaluating and selecting key vendors for inbound shipping, customs brokerage and related services.
- Optimize inbound logistics to improve costs while maintaining or improving speed of delivery.
- Develop reporting to increase our visibility to inbound product location and expected delivery dates.
Warehousing and Fulfillment for North America Operations
- Management of existing 3PL in Memphis, TN.
- Receiving, shipping, inventory management, quality inspection (predominately in returns processing).
- Structure, resource, build out, and evolve the process for designing, approving, producing and fulfilling custom decorated orders required to support our B2B customer base.
- Assess cost/benefit of special projects and communicate options to broader team.
- Oversight on management of cost base for 3PL and assist in evaluation of 3PL capabilities and long-term scalability for the brand.
- Provide insight/recommendations on this function as sales channels grow.
- Drive regular accumulation and communication of KPIs to the Company and the Board of Directors.
