Public Prep offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The salary for this position starts at $45,000. Primary Function & Position Overview:
The Permanent Substitute Teacher will be called upon to cover duties, including, but not limited to, implementing full class lesson plans, managing student behavior, proctoring lunch and recess, transitioning students from one location to another, and assisting with administrative tasks as necessary.
The Permanent Substitute Teacher will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with Academic Directors.

The Permanent Substitute Teacher will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with Academic Directors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementing lesson plans, maintaining Public Prep’s/Public Prep Academies academic and behavioral expectations and classrooms routines
- Collecting and grading student work products
- Taking attendance and managing arrival/dismissal
- Supervising transitions
- Ensuring seamless operations and maintaining the classroom environment
- Work with Operations team to retrieve necessary materials and lesson plans
- Updating Kickboard to reflect both positive and negative student behavior incidences
- Communicating with the teacher about student performance in the teacher’s absence.
- Fulfilling additional responsibilities as they are assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
- Must have or be working toward a BA/BS
- Able to lead and participate in group activities
- Experience working with K-8 students in a full class setting, preferred
- Must have a commitment to working with youth with a variety of unique learning needs, while providing high -quality services
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective
- Those with an interest in single-sex education and pursuing careers in education highly preferred
