The role will be responsible for the following:

Perform specific duties related to instruction; course and curriculum development; professional growth; service to students; and service to the college and community.

-Instruction: Facilitate the classroom instructional process; evaluate and monitor student progress; assign grades; provide academic assistance to students; maintain attendance and grade records; counsel and advise students on career goals; work to retain students; maintain required classroom and office hours.

-Course and Curriculum Development: Select texts, equipment, supplies, and other learning resources; participate in the purchase of needed program supplies and equipment; develop instructional materials; create and revise courses and/or curricula as needed; maintain updated course syllabi; develop and maintain a site on the college’s Learning Management System (eLearn) for all instructional materials and tests.

-Professional Growth: Remain current within instructional field and technologies; acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials; attend scheduled college and division professional development and in-service activities; support related professional organizations; participate in the annual faculty evaluation process.

-Service to Students: Comply with FERPA laws; participate in advising, recruitment, admissions, and orientation of potential students; assist students with job placement upon graduation; support student activities including SkillsUSA and NTHS.

-Service to the College and Community: Assist in the recruitment and selection of college personnel as assigned; participate in accreditation, assessment, and performance funding processes; support and participate in the College’s decision-making processes; provide input and assistance with budgets; attend convocation and commencement exercises and participate in mandatory college programs; develop and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with colleagues; maintain an active program advisory committee; complete the annual Council on Occupational Education (COE) report for the program.

-Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Graduate from a one-year diploma program or have an associate’s degree in an industrial maintenance mechatronics related field, and three years’ experience as a maintenance technician or ten years’ verifiable experience in the field of automation robotic maintenance.

OR,

Graduate from a one-year diploma program or have an associate’s degree in an industrial electricity related field, and three years’ experience as a licensed electrician, minimum (LLE) or ten years’ verifiable experience in the industrial electricity field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-Secondary or Secondary Teaching experience of equivalent courses. Completion of a USDOL apprenticeship, related to mechanical or electrical maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High level skills in oral and written communications; interpersonal skills consistent with interfacing with a diverse students, peers, administration, and business and industry leaders in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships; computer skills with Microsoft products.
