About the role

Sell what you love. For us and millions of users across the globe, that’s Spotify. Join the Sales team and you’ll build the relationships that help grow our business in existing markets and beyond. We don’t just sell creative solutions to our clients and partners, we help to shape them; using our expert knowledge of ad products, sales channels and the industry to impact the way the world experiences music and podcasts.
The TIL product area (Tooling, Integrations, & Labs) forms the product and engineering resources for Spotify’s Advertising Business Development team and is passionate about developing and innovating strategic partner integrations and partner-enabled advertising products.
We are looking for a Full Stack Mobile Engineer to join our fast paced and innovative team. You will be taking on ambitious problems while collaborating across Product, Technical Operations and Business Development, to develop innovative, reliable, secure, and scalable solutions, while integrating and implementing with various ad partner platforms and our ad servers. You may work in Android, iOS, Web, Databases, and Backend systems; with the main languages being Kotlin, Swift, ObjC, Java, JS, and SQL. However, you are comfortable with learning new languages when vital. You will also enable and support integrations with ad serving technologies and platforms. You will be contributing to the documentation for the services and features we work on.
We want someone who is passionate about the Spotify platform and is excited about building new things. A developer driven by creativity who is no stranger to working hard. We value a person who thinks creatively, a self learner, and always open to growing their own knowledge and skill.

  • Actively participate in code reviews, system designs, and team-building activities
  • Write thorough documentation for new projects or systems that you have worked on
  • Collaborate with engineers, engineering managers, product owners, and designers to tackle exciting and challenging problems
  • Work in an environment that supports your individual growth by providing you with challenging tasks to tackle and the freedom to acquire new skills in hack time, reading groups, lectures, and a variety of internal training courses
  • Initiate, influence, and drive technical projects
  • Innovate and work on new ideas that will shape the future product roadmap
  • Eliminate security risks by making sure our products meet internal and external standards
  • Own the implementation of ad tech partner integrations using various APIs, SDKs, and other relevant technologies.
  • Improve, scale, and standardize partner-enabled architecture across the organization

Who you are

  • You know how to write readable, maintainable, performant object-oriented Kotlin/Java and or Swift
  • You have hands-on experience with programming languages like Kotlin/Java, Python, Swift/Objective-C, and Javascript.

  • You have a quality-focused mentality and are interested in all parts of software development: ideation, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, experimentation, and iteration
  • You are a collaborative and team-first player who sees the value in pairing and mobbing as well as working independently
  • You have an intermediate to expert understanding of design patterns and design principles
  • You have some experience in backend development and are comfortable designing and building distributed and scalable systems
  • You have some knowledge of ad serving systems and a passion for new and emerging technologies
  • You have experience using Google Cloud Platform products like Kubernetes/GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Datastore
