Gameplay Programming Intern

Insomniac Games is looking for an intern to work within our Gameplay Programming department. We are looking for someone who wants to use their programming skills to build fun gameplay. If you are ready to take your experience to the next level, please apply!

Interns will be mentored by senior members of the Gameplay Programming team and will have the opportunity to develop long lasting connections within the industry. You'll be part of a team of skilled programmers who have created some of the best gameplay out there!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with partners across engineering and design to deliver gameplay features such as combat, breakable and interactive objects, AI polish, stats, bonus features, trophies, and visual effects.
  • Write, extend, and maintain production quality C++ code.
  • Identify, track, and fix bugs.

Internship Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have six to twelve months related experience and/or training, or currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree, working towards Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics or Math majors with computer programming experience or six to twelve months related experience or training.
  • Candidates must be able to program in C++.
  • You are energetic, self-motivated, creative, and responsible, and have a passion for video games and programming.

Internship Details:

  • This is a paid, full-time internship: 5 days per week for approximately 40 hours a week.
  • We expect at least an 8-week commitment from our interns.
  • This role is based in Burbank, CA or remote from an approved US state.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.$41.50—$57 USD
