Consultant, Environmental Due Diligence (Mid - Level)

ERM is seeking a motivated Consultant, Environmental Due Diligence to join our Mergers & Acquisitions Transaction Advisory team in any of our preferred Manhattan, NY; Washington, DC; Boston, MA; Rolling Meadows, IL, Philadelphia, PA or Hartford, CT offices, but open to others. In this hybrid role, you will manage and perform Environmental, Health and Safety and compliance due diligence transaction projects for multi-national corporate and financial sector clients, while working with ERM’s subject matter expert teams on related follow-on project tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform EHS and ESG due diligence projects involving multi-site portfolios and multi-person project teams locally, nationally, and globally.
- Preferred industry experience in Energy, Manufacturing, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Infrastructure, Transportation and Retail.
- Collaborating with Project Manager on identifying liabilities, risks and opportunities associated with transactions.
- Perform due diligence assessments consistent with ASTM Phase I standards and other global protocols and including broad-based compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports that assess potential environmental liability risks, and compliance and operational status at manufacturing facilities.
- Perform environmental compliance assessments at industrial and commercial facilities.
- Ability to work on regional and global projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Communicate with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, business administration, engineering, or related discipline. Or the equivalency of 6+ years related experience in lieu of education.
- 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting and knowledge of environmental due diligence projects.
- Solid knowledge of ASTM Phase I standards, understanding of core business and legal concepts of business transactions, and continued interest in working on transactions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
For the Consultant, Environmental Due Diligence position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $77,000 – $91,421 (USD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
