Job Summary
Provides technical direction, training, leadership and motivation for maintenance personnel, responsible for maintaining all equipment and keeping it operational. Designs and builds machines and machine tools, plus responsible for the preventative maintenance program.
The Maintenance Technician role includes the following responsibilities:
· Provides duties to department personnel and monitors adherence to maintenance schedules.
· Consults with personnel regarding equipment information such as capacity, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical requirements and capacities.
· Helps design electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and new equipment.
· Works directly with team to build new tooling and equipment, including setup and first run production.
· Repairs equipment as needed. Helps make or find precision parts and fabricate fixtures and machinery.
· Performs arc and wire feed welding.
· CNC troubleshooting repair.
· Analyzes electrical schematic problems.
· Routinely works with electrical voltages from 120-480 90-25 VDC controls.
· Helps design and install conduit and electrical circuits.
· Directs and performs routine preventative maintenance functions.
· Provides maintenance on buildings and grounds.
· Ensures that the department is organized, neat and clean; and that all safety procedures are being followed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
· High School Diploma or Equivalent plus trade school training in machining or equivalent.
· Demonstrated ability to lead and coach others.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical design capabilities.
· Must have excellent electrical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
· Previous experience with OSHA Safety Standards including lockout/tagout and Hazcom.
· Working environment is an unheated and non-air-conditioned manufacturing/warehouse setting.
· Safety glasses with side shields are required in the manufacturing environment.
· Frequent reaching, gripping and carrying up to 50 lbs., plus standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting and walking.
· Must handle multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast paced, high stress work environment.
