ABOUT THE TEAM
The Tactical Recon & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy and operate. The team is responsible for taking products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt and Altius from paper sketches to operational systems. We work in close coordination with specialist teams to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers, hardware engineers, roboticists, and front-end mobile developers who are excited about creating a powerful robotics platform that can be tasked and viewed in real-time through a variety of interfaces.
We’re looking for a Structural Analysis and Test Lead to join our team in Atlanta!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform structural analysis and mentor engineers using classical hand analysis techniques and finite element modeling.
- Peer review structural analysis reports, support test planning/execution, and participate in design reviews.
- Communicate pros/cons of system architecture with respect to structural and mechanical systems considerations. Strong focus on good architecture to ensure designs are robust in nature
- Work with aero/CFD engineers and others to define loads for aircraft structure and subsystems
- Generate, oversee, and maintain integrated FEMs for flying vehicles. Astutely pace model maturity based on state of hardware design and program goals
- Support vehicle airworthiness efforts
- Work with test and analysis leaders across the company to develop and implement best practices and common workflows
- Develop internal tools and reports for communicating loads and analysis results across teams
- Present status at formal reviews with Customer and internally. Technical status, risk tracking, inputs to program planning, etc.
- Interview other team members as projects grow in scope and complexity. Attract strong technical talent
- Create test models, define test loads, requirements and margins, and oversee structural testing
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or a hard science with a focus in structures
- Deep understanding of classical static analysis techniques, materials, finite element analysis
- 8+ years of experience performing structural analysis
- Demonstrated history mentoring engineers and leading engineering efforts
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without supervision
- Very organized and willing to establish scope and requirements for ill-defined problems
- Experience establishing and leveraging relationships with production and procurement teams
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management and requirements Verification and Validation
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Structural analysis experience with both mechanisms and composite structure
- Supported qualification activities for aerospace structure
- Structural and flight testing experience – sensor selection, data acquisition, data post processing
