About the role

Who We Are Seeking:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cosmos Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of Cosmos DB systems. You will ensure high availability and consistent performance of our database while working in a collaborative, international environment.


Your Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and administer Cosmos DB instances to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

  • Design and implement database architecture, including partitioning strategies, indexing, and performance tuning.

  • Monitor database performance, identify issues, and apply corrective measures.

  • Perform database backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.

  • Manage database configurations, patches, and upgrades as needed.

  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize queries for performance and scalability.

  • Troubleshoot database issues, analyze logs and provide solutions in a timely manner.

  • Implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data.

  • Work with cloud infrastructure teams to optimize resource usage and ensure cost-effective solutions.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to Cosmos DB.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 2+ years of hands-on experience with Cosmos DB.

  • Strong understanding of Azure Cosmos DB architecture.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a remote environment.

  • Familiarity with other Azure services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps.

  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and environments.

Working Hours:

  • Must be based in Brazil and available to work during core business hours in Brazilian time zones.
