Learn more about Valor: https://valorcollegiate.org/our-model/ About the Role: For the 2025-2026 school year, Valor Collegiate Academies is seeking a dynamic Director of Fine Arts and Enrichment who is excited to share our mission of empowering scholars to live inspired and purposeful lives.Valor’s Director of Fine Arts and Enrichment is responsible for overseeing and coaching Fine Arts and Enrichment teachers in grades 5-12, focusing on curriculum development, professional learning, development of a program vision, and instructional support. This role includes managing the Fine Arts and Enrichment budget, leading summer training and ongoing professional development, developing resources that guide instruction, and ensuring alignment with network goals. Additionally, the leader will serve as the executive director for middle and high school musical productions, guiding the artistic vision, managing budgets, and supporting student participation. The position also involves managing the state portfolio system, liaising with the Department of Education, and ensuring that course curricula meet portfolio requirements. The role requires strong leadership, coaching skills, and building a cohesive, creative arts program across multiple schools. Key Responsibilities:Leader and Teacher Development
- Develop leaders and teachers to effectively implement our instructional approach
- Lead Fine Arts and Enrichment Instructional Leader development
- Develop and deliver high quality professional development and instructional support tools to support middle and high school teachers to support their understanding of our instructional approach
- Facilitate teaching team weekly meetings, coordinate curricular and assessment shifts for the team, support intellectual preparation of their subject areas, and lead high-quality, actionable data analysis (1-3 teams)
- Coach a portfolio of Fine Arts and Enrichment teachers across grade levels (3-5 teachers)
- Plan and execute summer training and onboarding for Arts and Enrichment teachers. Backwards plan session objectives, key points, and associated activities and materials in alignment with network guidance to prepare teachers for being “day one” ready for students
- Support the school’s partnership with external vendors to deliver Valor’s 5-12 Sexual Education units. Ensure that communication with families happens in a timely manner, and partner with school leaders to develop an opt-out strategy.
- Set and lead a cohesive vision for curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Partner with the Managing Director of Schools to update the Fine Arts and Enrichment curricular, assessment and instructional approach
- Source, curate, and revise top quality student and staff facing curricular and assessment materials for grades 5-12
- Work collaboratively with instructional staff throughout the design and development process of curricular material. Facilitate short monthly check-ins with coaches and curriculum leaders to provide resources, support problem solving, share quick best practices, and foster a collaborative culture across the team of instructional leaders.
- Coordinate development and updating of our fine arts and enrichment assessment strategy, including portfolio submissions
- Analyze progress and program performance across our network quarterly to inform revisions and professional development
- Develop program vision and fundamentals of instruction for 5-12 theatre, art, and PE courses. Build corresponding department resources such as coaching tools, curriculum meeting agendas, etc. Train and support Arts and Enrichment coaches and curriculum leads on these resources.
