Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Director to join our team remotely or in Herndon, VA.
The Technical Director, Veteran’s Affairs, is responsible for overall technical management and innovation excellence across the assigned Customer portfolio to deliver engineering, information technology, and mission solutions and services in the areas of advanced analytics, AI/ML, cloud, cyber security, application and infrastructure modernization, and broad enterprise IT across a variety of CONUS and OCONUS Federal Civilian (FedCiv) programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Establish technical strategies and resulting roadmaps to align program resources across the accounts.
Provide executive technical leadership by establishing KPIs and work with programs to exceed program performance criteria across the portfolio.
Direct the organization’s resources to ensure the portfolio of programs are delivering best value to stakeholders, while meeting/exceeding requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
Lead initiatives to establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering practices in all areas of research, design, development, integration, and test for all programs.
Collaborate across ManTech to architect solutions in support of new business, customer demonstrations and engagement, and promote growth.
Provide thought leadership in the research and development of key discriminators and innovative capabilities focused on customer challenges and disruptive technologies.
Develop strategies and roadmaps that align investments in the ideation and creation to support the portfolio growth and long-range strategic pursuits.
Support talent acquisition and staffing initiatives.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, engagements, and round tables.
Lead university engagement and community outreach initiatives for next generation talent
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or at least 6 years relevant work experience in the technology sector.
10+ years of professional experience working with SMEs in a technical field.
3+ years of working with an Executive Branch Agencies, or comparable national security experience, with positive and existing relationships in these accounts.
For remote employees, must be able and willing to travel to DC Metro Area for key strategy sessions and meetings. Estimated Travel ~10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience implementing organizational change is highly desired.
Understanding of modern software development lifecycle and frameworks including Agile, SAFe, Scrum, and DevSecOps.
Ability to foster and build relationships across departments, pursue opportunities, and deliver briefings to both clients and senior stakeholders.
Analytical and critical thinking skills, and multi-tasking ability are a must; able to think and operate on both the strategic and tactical levels (e.g., able to devise a short-term solution that complements longer-term goals).
Experienced in systems engineering, software/systems development, cloud computing concepts; adept in the application of the system/software development lifecycle.
Expertise developing products, managing product lines, and building product teams.
Strong written and verbal communications skills, especially when presenting technical topics to a non-technical audience.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
