About the role

Summary:

EDA PDK Engineering team at Qorvo is seeking a talented Sr. Software Engineer. The ideal candidate chosen for this role will provide user friendly, seamlessly integrated software for improved design methodologies, faster visualization of results, process control and improvements, and general automation. The candidate will use Python/Perl, VB, C++, and/or other proprietary languages in conjunction with existing Software and APIs.

 

This position will be located in Greensboro, NC.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, design, implementing and managing software programs. Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
  • Work with Python, Perl, or C++ programming capabilities, Batch/Shell scripting, and GUI development; full life cycle of the software design process including requirement analysis, design, prototyping, coding, documentation, implementation, and maintenance; version control skills, Use of IDEs, and Debugging and problem-solving skills; algorithms and data-structures; use of PyCharm or Visual Studio; Docker and containers and familiarity with SQL databases, and unit testing in past development projects.
  •  Develop integrated GUI’s and develop scripts to automate design engineering problems.
  • Test and evaluate programs.
  • Provide comprehensive support to internal customers; achieve resolution to outstanding problems, or issues.
  • Maintain heterogeneous EDA infrastructure under Linux & Windows and assisting engineers in the installation and setup of EDA tools.
  • Build and maintain SharePoint sites for the EDA team.  #L1-SM1

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 4 years’ experience, or Masters with 2 years’ experience in software development. Also, position requires experience in:
  • Python, Perl, C++, and other “C language”-like programming capabilities, Batch/Shell scripting, and GUI development.
  • Full life cycle of the software design process including requirement analysis, design, prototyping, coding, documentation, implementation, and maintenance
  • Version control skills, Use of IDEs, and Debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of algorithms and data-structures
  • Use of PyCharm or Visual Studio
  • Exposure to Docker and containers and familiarity with SQL databases
  • Unit testing in past development projects
  • Implementation of CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) pipelines for automation and standardization of routine build and quality assurance steps using GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools
