Windows/Linux Systems Administrator ~ Chesapeake, VA ~ Top Secret/Poly Preferred

Junior Systems Administrator, is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of client networks and computer systems.

Chesapeake, VA ~ On Site~ Travel may be required.

Junior System Administrator Duties and Responsibilities

System Administrators identify any problems in the system, anticipate potential issues and repair systems and software when necessary. Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Setting up new users and workstations
• Managing and maintaining the file servers
• Monitoring connections for security risks
• Employing the latest security protocols
• Monitoring the local area network (LAN) for threats or errors
• Setting up Printers, File Shares, Updating/Deploying virtual Servers
• Troubleshoot issues and outages.
• Maintaining proper inventory of IT equipment
• Deploy new equipment as required

Junior System Administrator skills and qualifications

A qualified candidate will have skills and qualifications that demonstrate the fact that they can execute their job duties and fulfilling the various functions of their role. Some of the skills and qualifications of a System Administrator include:

• Highschool Diploma and 2 years of experience as a systems administrator or an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field and 1 year or less experience
• Prefer experience in Linux/Unix/RedHat or willing to learn Linux/Unix/RedHat

Junior Systems Administrator Requirements

• US Citizen
• TS clearance with SCI Eligibility
• CI or Fullscope Polygraph preferred or willing to take a CI polygraph
