Storage & Backup Administrator  

The Role

Distributed Compute and Storage is seeking a talented Storage & backup Administrator to drive the client support & product operational management team. The primary focus of the role is on storage and backup product ownership; prioritizing and resolving daily operations work to improve the efficiency, reliability and scalability of our storage and backup infrastructure services. The ideal candidate has experience in Block storage systems with servers and backup platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day Incidents and solving them in effective manner

• Following the Problem Management process.

• Handle service requests such as storage e-provisioning and deallocation

• Manage backup jobs, service request management.

• Resolving service request tickets, and take proactive steps to ensure 100% success rate

• Client, media agent and Comm-server upgrade and patch updates, backup and restore requests.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of IT experience across a broad range of technologies, with a focus on storage infrastructure

• Working knowledge of storage subsystems and SAN/NAS/CAS Infrastructure is a must (e.g. IBM Storage ,  Infinidat , Dell-ECS )

• Knowledge on Commvault Backup software (preferred) or any backup software is must

• Good working knowledge on SAN switches

• Proven knowledge of any NAS product (NetApp)

• Any previous Linux Administration experience is preferred

• Knowledge on Hyper-converged environment

• Good verbal and written communication

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge on any scripting languages.

• Basic knowledge on Cloud technology.

• Proven experience in server operations and infrastructure teams

• Expertise in managing high-severity incident calls

• Strong understanding of Agile methodology and IT Service Management

• Ability to identify gaps and drive process improvements

• Collaboration with vendors for root cause analysis and solution implementation

• Passion for automation, self-service, and self-healing infrastructure

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Team

As a Storage & backup Administrator within Fidelity’s Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations team, you will function as the primary requirements and delivery support personnel for our storage and compute platforms. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and our architecture teams to support solution design and implementation of high-quality automation for our Engineering and Operations teams.

We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days) in a Fidelity office.

This is a shift-based position:

Schedule: Wed–Sat or Sun–Wed (10 hours per day)

Flexibility: Occasional coverage on other days may be required
