Automation Systems Construction Group
The Automation Systems Construction Group is responsible for the design, construction and support of cutting-edge data center automation and control infrastructure. The department collaborates with Sales, Engineering, Information Technology, Billing, Operations and Management to ensure the system continues to fulfill Vantage customer requirements. Automation Systems works closely with partner contractors to come up with the best design and helps manage these partners to success by providing accurate requirements, goals, and timelines. In addition to design and construction, we are also responsible for assuring the technical requirements of the Operations department are met.
Position Overview
This role can be based remotely in US.
The Technical Project Manager supports and facilitates the successful completion of projects for the Automation Systems group. The Technical Project Manager is a catalyst in facilitating multi-functional alignment with key project partners for regionally assigned new and existing automation projects. The Technical Project Manager manages and provides technical leadership regarding automation design, engineering, and construction interfacing. The Technical Project Manager has the ability to influence and develop consensus across teams at a regional level. The Technical Project Manager has a high-level understanding of system integration, project management, commissioning, and process execution is required to provide informative project issue mitigation when challenges arise.
Essential Job Functions
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Automation Systems team design and engineering interfacing resource.
Support pre-bid planning, coordination, and execution strategies to ensure quality design and engineering deliverables.
Support internal Innovation and Design Engineers teams to ensure standards and design engineering initiatives are adhered to throughout the automation design process.
Leads automation project design activities, which includes partnerships and collaboration with:
(EOR) Engineer of record and Design Systems Integration teams.
Automation construction teams regarding automation scope of work development, automation design deliverables, and factory acceptance testing.
Support Sales, Design Engineering, and Services to develop project requirements based on market demands or customer requirements.
Provide technical leadership regarding automation issue mitigation to support delivery and commissioning schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
Leads automation design and engineering projects that align with business vision, strategy, and deployment within the company.
Assist in the definition of automation project scope and objectives, involving all relevant partners and ensuring technical feasibility.
Balance multiple automation technical project scopes, schedules, and stakeholder relations across the regions.
Drive all aspects of automation activities related to new and existing project development through each of the design and engineering phases, while supporting the construction interfacing team.
Lead automation technical responsibilities with the Engineer of Record and Design Systems Integrators.
Run automation design deliverable package coordination and updates with all applicable automation construction partners.
Ensure alignment to the Vantage Automation Execution Playbook and global standards by the Engineer of Records and Design Systems Integrator.
Provide automation system technical guidance and issue mitigation throughout design, engineering, and commissioning activities.
Coordinate and support applicable FWT (Factory Witness Tests), and software bench testing and on-site point to for various projects.
Provide remote or onsite project and vendor support ensuring a successful design and engineering delivery.
