How You Make an Impact
- Maintain the branch's cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency and prioritization (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc).
- Communicate maintenance needs, and issues, and recommend solutions to branch directors.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks of the facilities as a means of preventative maintenance.
- Ensure the fulfillment of goods in designated areas, such as paper towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
- Empty and clean wastebaskets throughout the branch.
- Arrange equipment in the custodial storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
- Work closely with the Y Safety Champion and Care Area Marshal to develop intense cleaning and disinfecting protocol in closed-off areas.
- Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
- Lead by example the Y's mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests. 
- Become an Ambassador of the Y's work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand. 
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Y
- 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have the ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Having experience in custodial or maintenance work settings is a plus but not required.
- You are organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
- You listen for understanding and meaning. You speak and write effectively.
- You foster a culture of inclusion and belonging. You leverage people's differences as strengths.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, and occasionally lift and/or move items, including equipment, furniture, and/or children.
