Systems Engineer II – Networking and Gateway Solutions (Onsite)

The Battlefield Autonomy Tactical Management and Advanced Networking (BATMAN) team is looking for a dynamic systems engineer in support of our growing business within Networking and Gateway Solutions. The successful candidate will have a passion for learning and developing new technology and capabilities into systems solutions. This role will support the development of emerging technologies and differentiators into our Networking and Gateway solutions on key programs across multiple platforms. 

The primary role will be working with a multi-discipline team of engineers on a new multi-domain heterogenous networking capability from the ground up. The candidate will be focused on writing requirements, developing test procedures and test cases, and performing integration and test of multiple individual applications into a working system solution. The successful candidate will be part of a distributed team composed of professionals from several disciplines and must have the ability to function well, both alone and with others, and have strong interpersonal skills. This position may require occasional travel (up to 10%.). 

This position does require that candidate has a final US DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain a final security clearance (US Citizenship is required) in order to access classified information.

What you will do:

  • Have a passion for learning and development next generation technologies and capabilities in support of our military customers
  • Systems engineering through all phases of development, but mostly focused on:
    • Requirements development
    • Writing test procedures and test cases
    • Integration and test of software based system
  • Conduct systems level performance and functional tests
  • Stand up up test capabilities in a lab based environment
  • Use personal experience and best practices to identify issues, potential problems, and risk.
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt decision-making style based on the situational circumstances.
  • Work in an agile development environment using agile toolsets such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, Docker, and others.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Demonstrated experience with tools such as JIRA, Git, Subversion, and Docker
  • Basic knowledge and practical experience working within Cameo.
  • Familiarity with C++, Python, Java, and RUST
  • Experience working effectively in highly collaborative environments, a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and techniques is a plus
  • This position requires an individual that can perform independently and as such the candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter. The ability to coordinate several complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules is a must.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Background and/or knowledge of the following technologies is helpful but not required:
    • CTEN
    • KC-135
    • Resilient Autonomous Networking (RAN)
    • Rossetta
    • Cross Domain Solutions
    • Datalink Waveforms (e.g. TTNT, MUOS, Starlink, etc.)
