Are you ready to be part of a dynamic onsite team shaping the future of Production Processes? We are seeking a Process/Production Engineer for our Selko business line in Indianapolis, IN!  This role is responsible for designing, optimizing, troubleshooting and improving the effectiveness of our production processes. You will lead innovative projects, reduce costs, ensure compliance regulations are met, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.  You will play a crucial role in driving efficiency and quality!

About The Role: Driving the Production Process

Responsibilities:

Process design 

• Develop, configure and optimize our production processes from inception through start up and certification, researching and developing new equipment
• Create technical project objectives by drafting maintenance of CAPEX, improvement project proposals and plans
• Ensure project specifications in line with operations requirements, performance standards, complete and prepare technical studies and cost estimates
• Evaluate and validate design alternatives to create optimum designs
• Certify technical accuracy of designs and make the financial business case

Process management and troubleshooting

• Lead the oversight of all production processes and support the day-to-day optimization of the production lines and processes
• Assist Production staff with troubleshooting problems; perform root cause analysis in case of (recurring) malfunctions, problems or other issues and offer solutions
• Monitor the performance of equipment, including regular testing and ensure maintenance tasks fulfilled

Projects

• Participate as a team member in a broad CAPEX assignment or lead project teams in CAPEX projects
• Support assigned installation and/or process improvement projects, within the project management guidelines
• Ensure successful completion of the assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints
• Manage the installation and start-up of new process equipment and provide process documentation and operating instructions

Continuous improvement

• Continuous evaluation of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality remain high
• Identify and implement improvements to the production systems, processes and practices to improve, optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output 

Technical leadership

• Stay abreast on the latest developments in process management
• Function as a technical consultant on production processes and contribute to the development of Nutreco technical standards

Compliance

• Ensure all process documentation conveys compliance with internal and external regulations 
• Perform risk assessments on equipment and processes, cover all aspects of safety, health, food safety and all other HSE standards 
• Signal potential hazardous and/or unsafe conditions, take appropriate action

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a similar field
• 6-8 years’ of Manufacturing Engineering
• Experience with MES, QMS and CAD software is preferred
• PMP experience, a value-add
• Collaboration with Operations Management, Maintenance and Technical Managers
• Fluency in English
• Urgency, Prioritize, Ownership and Personal Accountability
