Department Overview
Major Infrastructure Delivery is largely a field-based organization made up of over 11,000 coworkers and contractors that ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to approximately 16 million people throughout a 70,000 square-mile service area in northern and central California. The organization is accountable for the company's program to underground 10,000 miles of electric distribution lines to reduce wildfire risk, the System Inspection Program to identify potential risks to the safety and reliability of the system, and Vegetation Management to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity. The Quality Management team supports the Major Infrastructure Delivery organization to meet or exceed established operational targets, including compliance requirements, KPIs, budget, and risk reduction strategies that support the company’s Purpose, Virtutes and Stands.
Position Summary
The Senior Field Quality Control Program Manager oversees quality management programs to assess Vegetation Management operations, ensuring electric system safety, reliability and regulatory compliance with state and federal rules. The incumbent may also serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and education or influence leaders in the industry (PG&E, other utilities or other decision makers) on regulatory issues and program strategies. Works alongside team throughout a specific geographic area of operations, including, work quality audits and direct assessment of inspection and tree contractor personnel. Works with customers and public entities to monitor and manage vegetation proximity to PG&E assets to contribute to system reliability and safety objectives.
- This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (North Coast/Bay Regions).
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
CA Minimum: $97,000
CA Maximum: $154,000

Bay Minimum: $102,000
Bay Maximum: $162,000
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Audits and assesses vegetation management operations and outside contractor work performance in a multi-region area of responsibility.
- Works independently to solve moderate to highly complex problems and takes new perspectives on existing solutions, plans, and goals.
- Leads project teams.
- Contributes to the development of program plans and goals within a specific functional area of operations. Delivers on the program implementation plan.
- Develops new and ad-hoc reports, summarizes findings and recommendations, and provides business insight to various levels of management.
- Oversees in-depth quality assurance final reviews.
- Communicates complex ideas to diverse audiences (PG&E, other utilities, public entities, community organizations, etc.), using a variety of media. Provides guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance environment and considerations.
- Contributes to implementation and creation of new concepts, processes and ideas to further quality management program advancement.
- Manages multiple programs and projects that support other lines of business.
- May assist in management of emergency work, for example, for severe storms, wildfires, and power shutoff events.
- Manages and implements internal quality observations of multiple vegetation management programs.
- Reports out, provides updates and corrective actions, and participates in daily huddles under the Lean Management model.
- May contribute to vegetation management safety investigations and corrective action plans.
