STUDENT - PCIM OFFICE ASSISTANTS
The Park Center for Independent Media at Ithaca College (PCIM) is looking for IC students to support its social media platforms and support special projects throughout the academic year, including PCIM sponsored events. This position is for the current term, spring semester 2026.
PCIM, founded in 2008, currently finds itself in a unique position for rebranding, reengaging, and growth across the IC campus and Ithaca, at large. PCIM staff is thrilled to have this opportunity to develop its relationships and programming while honoring the legacy of its founders and dedicated partners. Our staff feels strongly about having current students involved in the process.
PCIM’s Mission: To engage media producers and students in dialogue and action about independent media, especially U.S.-based outlets producing content (across single- or multiple-content platforms) on issues such as equity, social justice, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creating content for routine posts on IG, FB and/or LinkedIn
- Supporting the planning of on and off-campus events (including the Izzy Awards)
- Developing a PCIM archival system incorporating materials and artifacts from 2008 to present
- Create and hang up posters around campus, downtown, and other designated locations to promote events
- Send event listings to community notice boards, using a provided list for distribution
- Create initial drafts, proofread, and format event programs and ads using Canva
- Submit postings of upcoming events to Intercom
- Collaborate with other PCIM leaders, staff and TAs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in independent media and free press issues
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience shooting and editing photos and videos
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An ability and willingness to learn
- Confident in taking initiative, asking questions and being resourceful
- Knowledgeable of utilizing social media platforms and how to leverage such tools for marketing PCIM news, events and opportunities
Job Details:
- Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
- Hours: About 10-20 hours per week
- Duration: Fall semester with possibility to continue for spring semester
