S&P Global Ratings is one of the world's leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. Within S&P Global Ratings, Americas Public Finance is an important sector of the capital markets as our credit analysis supports key funding initiatives and serves as a growth driver for many areas of the economy. The Utility Revenue team covers a portfolio of about 1,900 water, sewer, and solid waste credits, maintaining a strong culture of analytical excellence and customer service in a supportive, diverse, and collegial environment.

Responsibilities and Impact:
Impact: As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the credit landscape within the Utility Revenue sector. You will contribute to the analytical excellence that S&P Global Ratings is known for while fostering innovation and development within your team.
Responsibilities:
Manage a complex portfolio of high-profile utility revenue credits, lead analytical initiatives, collaborate across teams, and chair rating committees
Guide and coach pod members, ensuring alignment with S&P Global's mission and values while fostering professional growth and development
Develop insightful, forward-looking credit rating research and contribute to thought leadership publications and market outreach
Create memorable interactions with rated entities, investors, and market participants by providing critical information and communicating S&P Global Ratings' perspectives
Document analyses thoroughly to ensure clarity and transparency in credit rating decisions
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $210,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 7+ years of extensive experience in Public Finance sector analysis
Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, and municipal utility sector expertise
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; postgraduate qualifications advantageous
Broad extensive knowledge of practices within Public Finance and its interrelationship with other areas
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex ideas across functions and levels
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with technology and AI applications for creative problem-solving and enhanced decision-making
Track record of contributing to thought leadership and market outreach initiatives
Proven ability to invite diverse perspectives to shape solutions and represent the organization externally as a subject matter expert
Experience mentoring and developing junior analysts in complex analytical processes
