Full-Time - 40 hours per week
Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Dietary Aide (includes working every other weekend) to support our Food & Beverage department. The Dietary Aide is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures, and/or specific instruction from the Director of Food & Beverage Services or Dietary Manager. Performs a variety of food preparation duties, prepping ingredients, arranging and garnishing dishes, and checking ingredients for freshness. Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area by adhering to sanitation standards.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Checks production sheet for special menu instructions and prep to be done for the day.
- Completes prep of the day.
- Ensures quality of food is maintained and serves consistent portion sizes.
- Garnishes each plate.
- Keeps accurate temperature log.
- Assembles assistive eating devices on proper trays for lunch and dinner.
- Completes lunch and dinner cart in time to be served in the Health Center by 1:00 p.m. for lunch and 6:00 p.m. for dinner.
- Serves lunch and dinner to residents in Health Center dining room.
- Maintains sanitation standards in work area.
- Records any food item substitutions on the log.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, hot and cold cart, and reach-in.
- Wraps labels and dates all items.
- Maintains food cost by watching food waste.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation services preferred.
- Thorough experience in hot and cold food preparation preferred.
- Experience in long-term care setting or related health care field preferred.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Must present self in a professional manner.
- Most possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with colleagues and residents.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
