We’re looking for a Senior Scheduler/Risk Manager to join our team—someone who thrives on solving complex scheduling puzzles, mitigating risks before they become roadblocks, and ensuring large-scale programs stay on track. This is a long term, full-time, onsite position located in the Washington DC Area.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze owner/project manager and contractor prepared CPM schedules, baseline schedules, and monthly schedule updates to identify critical paths, near critical paths, milestone impacts, phasing shifts and potential trends. 
  • Analyze schedules for opportunities to reduce schedule risk, critical path duration, and recover delays by creating and analyzing what-if schedules. 
  • Develop and implement governance structures for risk management.
  • Perform schedule audits on project schedules to ensure data is “risk ready.”
  • Perform schedule Monte Carlo analysis on client’s schedule.
  • Analyze contractor delay claims including owner risk through the application of forensic scheduling principles for merit, quantity, concurrent delays, excusable versus inexcusable delays, compensable versus non-compensable delays, et cetera. 
  • Continuous analysis of schedules and provision of alternatives and expected outcomes to avoid any schedule delays.  
  • Apply Earned Value Management techniques to schedules for purposes of reporting key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Responsible for the creation of a risk management plan, risk policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for risk management including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.
  • Develop risk register format including scoring system, fields to track, and risk breakdown structures.
  • Lead risk workshop sessions for risk identification and planning.
  • Lead uncertainty ranging sessions to support a Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Manage the client’s update cycles, continuous risk monitoring techniques, reports, and dashboards.
  • Apply schedule risk management techniques for risk management purposes; support risk register updates; support risk assessment to prepare for contingencies. 
  • Perform cost Monte Carlo analysis (quantitative) on the project or program cost estimate.
  • Prepare and present schedule analysis presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience. 
  • 10+ years’ experience in risk management with CPM construction scheduling for complex civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing large programs (e.g., $500M+) utilizing quality and risk-based thinking.
  • Experience working on teams for large, complex infrastructure design-build programs.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), resource planning, and cashflow management.
  • Experience creating and presenting technical presentations in group settings and meetings.
