Equitable is looking for an experienced and dynamic Divisional Vice President to support Individual Retirement sales and a team of External Wholesalers in the Northeast/New England/New York markets.

What You'll Be Doing

• Direct responsibility for the hiring, training and motivating of Third-Party Channel wholesalers.

• Wholesaler management includes accountability for hitting sales, activity and budget targets.

• Field activities include routine travel and wholesaler training in areas such as product training, presentation skills and territory management.

• Assist in the building and execution of sales and marketing plans for Equitable Distributors' (EDL) with senior management and Key Accounts.

• Manage their division within budget: T/E, focus firm discretionary and DVP discretionary budgets.

• Strategic Awareness: Provide input into the strategic direction of EDL in a way that is consistent with senior management and conforms with the profitability targets of EDL and Equitable.

This position offers a remote work arrangement plus up to 90% travel for business needs. Periodic office visits may be requested based on business needs.

The base salary for this position is $150,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's degree in business, finance or relevant work experience

• 7 years of Variable Annuity and/or Mutual Fund wholesaling experience

• Proven Success in ability to train and development wholesalers

• FINRA Series 7, 63, 24 & 26 registrations

• Resident State Life, Health and Variable Annuities Insurance license

• Able to travel extensively (up to 90%) for business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior people and sales management experience highly desired

• Work background in the Financial Services/Securities industry

• Thorough knowledge of Advanced Markets as well as basic understanding of additional areas such as wrap programs, money management, and fundamental and technical analysis

• Outstanding presentation and proven sales skills

• Highly organized and able to manage a large team of wholesalers to success

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of Sales Channels: Knowledge of meanings and features of sales channels; ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling an organization's products and services.

Prospecting: Knowledge of prospecting principles, processes and skills; ability to identify and engage potential customers in the market.

Sales & Marketing: Knowledge of the strategies and operations for promoting the organization products, services and reputation; ability to develop and implement these strategies and operations.

Sales Closing and Agreements: Knowledge of sales closing and agreements related processes, techniques and skills; ability to close deals and reach final sales agreements.

Sales Proposals and Presentations: Knowledge of sales processes, tools, and techniques; ability to prepare and present formal recommendations for how the organization can meet the customer's needs.

Sales Training: Knowledge of sales training methodologies; ability to ensure that sales and sales management employees have the knowledge and skills required to meet both tactical and strategic sales objectives.

Territory Management: Knowledge of territory management practices, tools and techniques; ability to manage and maximize insurance business performance for one or multiple geographical area(s).
