JOB SUMMARY
Initiation, monitoring, and auditing of all investigational drug studies approved by the UTSW Institutional Review Board to ensure compliance with federal, state, FDA, and other regulations. Ensure compliance with comprehensive, accurate, and timely records and reports including usage and dispensing records, collection forms, financial and budgeting information. Serves as a resource and liaison for principal investigators, research sponsors, the IRB, and pharmacy.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree - Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Experience
1 year of pharmacy experience
English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Licenses and Certifications
Eligible for licensure by Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) is required Upon Hire
Texas license with TSBP within 30 Days
(ACPE-IV) STERILE COMPOUNDING (IV) CERT Sterile compounding (IV) certification accredited by ACPE Upon Hire
(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification with course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire
ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) will be required for inpatient positions within 180 Days

JOB DUTIES
- Performs job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives and environmental/infection control standards as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
- Performs all computer order entry in an accurate, thorough and timely manner. Reviews/updates medication profiles (therapies, allergies, height, weight, etc.) and is cognizant of patient charges.
- Reviews medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, duplications, interactions, overall effectiveness and safety. Seeks clarification if necessary and documents interventions (i.e., ADR).
