Shipping/Receiving Operator - Fort Wayne

United Tactical Systems is hiring a Shipping/Receiving operator to work in a warehouse/manufacturing setting. Candidates for this position typically have a strong attention to detail, good mathematical and computer entry/documentation skills, work well in a fast-paced environment, and are team-oriented.

Responsibilities for Shipping and Receiving Operator:

• Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
• Securely package items, print labels/documentation, weigh packages and determine proper carrier selection
• Collaborate and communicate with customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipping and receiving process
• Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Follow company procedures and directives
• Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
• Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
• Provide Production Assembly backup support as requested
• Assist with the inventory control process as requested

Requirements

Qualifications for position:

• High School Diploma or GED Preferred
• Previous shipping and or receiving experience preferred
• Must be detail-oriented
• Data Entry and computer skills a must
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to work shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)

Physical Requirements and Environment:

• This position will regularly require walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
• The position will occasionally be required to lift items weighting up to 50 pounds.
• Work will be performed in a warehouse environment.
