The Mechanical/Industrial Process Engineering Co-op position will work with the Process Center IPT in the Melbourne, FL facility.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
- Production floor support for production processes
- Assist in various Process-related projects (Process Equipment verification and validation, Process improvements, Process related scrap reduction, Process related OOE improvements, creation and validation of automated process and equipment, Facilities Re-layout, Lean)
- Apply Lean principles including 5S, Standard Work, and flow
- Work with Industrial Engineers and Production Managers to find and correct inefficiencies, resulting in improved productivity.
- Develop cost-benefit comparisons of alternate methods, processes, layouts, parts, tooling, or equipment
What You Will Learn:
- You will learn and gain knowledge with hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering methods and techniques used in manufacturing.
- Gain knowledge by working with the Industrial Engineer. Mechanical Engineers and Production Managers
- Learn and become familiar with Surface Mount Technology and/or Through Hole processes as well as methods to Measure, Analyze, Validate and Improve upon these processes
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
