Associate Software Engineer

The Associate Software Engineer possesses individual contributor abilities along with the essential technical skills for their role. This individual adeptly follows instructions, completes assigned tasks efficiently, and takes the initiative to communicate progress updates and address any obstacles.

Responsibilities 

Technical Execution 

• Understand stakeholder requirements and user stories. 
• Participate in the software design process, including setting and attending meetings with stake holders and acting as the author of design documents. 
• Develop, test, and maintain structured and efficient software that satisfies requirements and user stories and adheres to Nextworld’s coding standards and best practices. 
• Create documentation for code and design decisions.

Troubleshooting and Debugging 

• Respond to internal customer-reported issues and bug reports. 
• Investigate and diagnose problems within the software. 
• Write manual test cases to verify specific functionality. 
• Execute manual tests and document the results. 
• Communicate with other internal parties to provide updates on issue resolution progress.

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Participate in daily Scrum stand-up meetings to share progress and blockers. 
• Work closely with team members to achieve sprint goals.
• Collaborate with the Scrum Master to remove obstacles. 
• Engage in sprint planning meetings to estimate tasks and plan work. 
• Communicate effectively with Product Owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

• B.S. Computer Science or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., B.A. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math), or combination of education and equivalent practical work experience. 
• Exposure to developing applications or writing code in any language. 

Starting Salary Range:  $78K - $110K per year

About the Team

We build the no-code enterprise application platform (a.k.a. “EAP”) that is used by Nextworld’s customers and partners to create and run enterprise-grade business solutions. We have a knack for abstracting complex technical concepts into no-code facilities that are straightforward to use. The Platform allows for the development and execution of involved, integrated business applications — complete with workflow, business logic, eventing, external callouts, notifications, various user experiences, artificial intelligence, and more. Examples of applications suites built on the Platform are enterprise financials, sales, inventory, manufacturing, and real estate.

Position located in Greenwood Village, CO. Nextworld's hybrid model has co-location in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
