About the role

Overview/ Job Responsibilities

As part of our commitment to excellence in supporting the SLS Core Stage 2 through Core Stage 4 vehicles, the following activities will be performed:

  • Duties and Responsibilities:In support of the SLS Core Stage 2 through Core Stage 4 vehicles, you will:

    • Maintain Program Excellence:Ensure quality program requirements are upheld by maintaining timely equipment calibrations, a critical aspect of meeting data deliverable expectations.

    • Support Tools and Materials Development:Contribute to defining requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes essential to the engineering design, manufacturing, and maintenance of Boeing’s innovative products.

    • Leverage GC/MS Expertise:Perform GC/MS analyses, including purge and trap techniques, to deliver precise and reliable data that directly supports the statement of work.

    • Troubleshoot and Maintain Laboratory Equipment:Ensure seamless laboratory operations by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, including GC/MS systems, to meet critical deadlines for customer data.

    • Analyze Aerospace Materials:Conduct detailed analyses of blowing agent content in aerospace thermal protection system foam components, contributing to the safety and reliability of key systems.

    • Monitor and Validate Facility Commodities:Perform routine sampling and analysis of gases and liquids to confirm compliance with required specifications, ensuring smooth facility operations.

    • Deliver Timely and Accurate Material Assessments:Provide thorough analysis and reporting on process materials, verifying they meet stringent specifications for production use.

    • Draft Critical Engineering Documents:Prepare engineering specifications and other key documents to guide the effective deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes, supporting operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education/experience  in engineering, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Must be US citizen for government clearance or contract compliance
