As a Data Scientist, you will perform a range of duties involving data collection, data analysis, text mining, presentation building, and data stewardship activities.

What You’ll Do:

• Develops and maintains operational reports and revenue dashboards for the commercial lines department.
• Builds next generation service fee pricing model; identifies current gap and proposes alternatives.
• Discovers trends in retention, growth, and macroeconomic factors that impact customer lifetime value.
• Analyzes fee and commission structure and evolve target customer profile.
• Acts as data steward for business terms that relate to commercial lines service pricing model.
• Support data analysis projects for mid to large sized clients with medium or low complexity
• Conduct external statistical/actuarial/census/economic data research and present findings to team members
• Collect, prepare, and analyze property and casualty data from various sources
• Learn to implement formal exploratory data analysis for projects with support from senior and lead analysts
• Learn to develop reusable templates and reports for review and feedback by other team members
• Learn to participate in peer reviews and provide technical feedback to colleagues
• Support data science/actuarial team projects through data gathering and analysis
• Support the development of reusable templates and reports for the data analytics team

• You have proven ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize key findings from sophisticated data from a wide variety of systems

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in actuarial sciences or a similar quantitative discipline
• 0-3 years of experience in insurance or a related industry
• 1+ actuarial exam required for Actuary track, nice to have for Data Science track
• Expertise in SQL, Python, Excel, and Tableau
• Experience in understanding fundamental and technical analysis of securities
• Thorough understanding of actuarial and statistical methods involved in building frequency and severity models
• Understanding of corporate finance and accounting
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

More About Us:

Compensation: Anticipated salary between $72,409.00 - $120,681.00. Salary offered will be dependent upon geography, experience, and expertise of the candidate.

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation with a target equivalent to 8% of salary annually, based on individual and Company performance.
