Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) group offers an exciting opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware and Infrastructure (HW&I) Engineering team. What You Will Do

  • You will work onsite 3 days a week with a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).

  • You will identify potential commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) replacement devices, conduct trade studies with potential devices, and choose the device that best meets the requirements.

  • You will perform preliminary and detailed design activities.

  • You will conduct testing activities in the lab to support Engineering Change Proposals, including device-level bench testing and integration testing in the overall system.

  • You will write detailed verification test plans and test reports.

  • You will mentor junior engineers throughout the product development cycle.

  • You will have opportunities to lead a small team of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals.

  • You will interface with other disciplines (Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain) to support product development.

  • You will complete technical documentation related to Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, Preliminary and Detailed Design artifacts, and presentations.

  • You will collaborate and team with other engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, and customers.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must have 8 years of prior experience in electronic design in both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom hardware designs.

  • Must have prior experience completing technical documentation. 

  • U.S. Citizenship Required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

  • Education - Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
