About the role
Full time Medical Assistant/Receptionist position. Practice specialty: Ophthalmology-Renita. Hours of operation:
7:30am - 4:30pm (Monday - Friday).
Job Description:
Retina Center of Hawaii, LLC. is a busy ophthalmology office looking to hire an enthusiastic medical assistant who is a team player and able to multi-task, while delivering exceptional customer service in a respectful and professional manner. Willing to train.
Job Duties:
• Promptly and professionally assists the doctor
in patient care
• Performs technical workups, patient interviews and special testing
• Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures,
changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc.
• Maintains and cleans equipment being used
• Phone calls to patients and pharmacies as needed
• Efficiently and accurately obtains and documents medical history.
• Scribes when doctor desires
• Greet and check in patients and ensure that all paperwork is submitted
• Answer telephones in a timely and professional manner
• Check out and schedule appointments (follow-up and/or in-office procedures)
• Preparing charts for the upcoming week by verifying medical insurance(s)
eligibility, and updating patient information as necessary

Requirements
Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers and supervisor is critical. Ability to multi-task and function independently, be organized. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need.
