LOOKING FOR LOCAL CANDIDATES CURRENTLY RESIDING IN BAY AREA NEAR WORK LOCATION-LIVERMORE.  ASSINMENT IS HYBRID AND ONSITE VISIT/OBSERVATIONS WILL BE REQUIRED AS NEEDED. PERSONAL PHONE REQUIRED FOR ASSIGNMENT OR MS TEAMS TO BE USED. THERE WILL BE NO EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT. MILEAGE CAN BE EXPENSED PER MANAGER PRIOR APPROVAL FOR ONSITE VISITS OR MEETINGS.

Responsibilities

  •  Primary designer and developer for instructor-led, web-based, and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the utilities industry.
  •  Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training.
  •  Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
  •  Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
  •  Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content.
  •  Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
  •  Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
  •  Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience.
  •  Lead milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer.
  •  Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
  •  Receive and incorporate feedback.
  •  Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables.
  •  Proactively communicate issues and risks.

 Required Skills

  •  3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led training and on-the-job tasks for technical skills.
  •  3+ years of experience with Storyline, QuestionMark and Author-It.
  •  Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies.
  •  Proven experience performing task analysis.
  •  Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  •  Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed.
  •  Experience developing technical training for adult learners.
  •  PG&E Academy experience a plus.

Work Samples/Portfolio

• A portfolio/work samples must be provided for consideration.

Desired Skills

  •  Technical writing experience a plus.
  •  Utility experience a plus.

Location

  •  Must be located in the client's territory.
  •  Must work Monday-Friday, no more than 40 hours a week.
  •  Remote work on a day-to-day basis with monthly/quarterly travel required to PG&E locations.
  •  Occasional overnight stays may be necessary to support client meetings and project milestones. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

ASSIGNMENT IS HYBRID AND WILL NEED TO BE ON-SITE IN LIVERMORE (POSSIBLY SAN RAMON( A FEW WEEKS IN A QUARTER. MILEAGE IS ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT WHEN/IF APPLICABLE.
