About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Quality and Process Technician will support the production team by directly assisting in line activities while driving improvements in processes and efficiency of line operators.  The Sr. Quality and Process Technician will also be responsible for quality inspections, collecting and analyzing data to assist production and engineering team to improve yields.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs testing and troubleshooting of components and manufacturing processes
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, 
  • Evaluates existing processes, suggests measures for improvement, and configures manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, boost productivity, and quality
  • Conduct PFMEA’s and Industrial Experimentation
  • Develops troubleshooting guides through collection and consolidation of tribal knowledge to improve the through put and efficiency of the production line.
  • Documents processes through creating set-up procedures and quality documents
  • Prepares and processes engineering and manufacturing documentation.
  • Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization    
  • Plans and performs the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or -component.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Oversees and assists workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Supports and trains entry-level technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of previous manufacturing, engineering, quality, or design experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of Quality test equipment – manometer, thermocouple.
  • Experience with CMM and Vision metrology systems preferred etc.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite. 
  • Proficiency in Excel in developing and maintaining data spreadsheets as well as data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Strong understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization including collaborating with remote staff in both the US, Canda, and Europe
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team while meeting deadlines
  • Self motivated with strong attention to detail

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.  
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
