Sign-on Bonus: $2,000
Position requires 8 hour shifts (7am-3pm) Monday-Friday, excluding holidays and weekends.
- Provides oversight of medical processes under the supervision of an RN at the level 1 residential substance use treatment program.
- Review referrals for appropriateness of admission given the reported medical history providing this feedback to the clinical supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and the individual served responses in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Conduct routine health assessments, monitor vital signs, and assess for signs of substance use withdrawal (as needed) or other medical concerns.
- Collaborate with the medication providers and clinical staff to address the individual physical health needs.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medications in accordance with the medication provider’s orders is updated in the EHR.
- Provide a weekly nursing group to address topics such as nutrition, hygiene, medication management, and disease prevention; documenting the EHR accordingly.
- Monitor the processes involved with the medication storage room and medication observation record (MOR) to ensure compliance with agency policy and procedure.
- Communicate effectively with the treatment team and provide input on discharge and treatment plans that support individuals served in developing self-care skills and making informed decisions about health and wellness.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies or other urgent situations within the residential setting.
- Collaborate with treatment team members to assess risks, implement interventions, and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals served.
- Prepare and submit incident reports, medication observation records, and other required documentation in compliance with program policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing nursing practice, outcomes, and program effectiveness.
- Adhere to regulatory standards, licensure requirements, and best practices in nursing practice and substance use treatment.

Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) issued by the State of Florida.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use diagnoses, preferred. Knowledge of recovery is an asset.
- Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
- Valid FL drivers' license, insurance, and safe driving record.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Stamina to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for medication observation and documentation.
- Auditory acuity for verbal interactions whether face-to-face or over the phone.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in all conditions.
