As an ADP Assistant Actuary you will be part of our Actuarial Development Program where you begin as a student that will rotate into various positions throughout the actuarial departments in order to gain a wide range of knowledge and experiences that can be leveraged throughout the Actuary’s career. Although not every rotation path is the same for every student, common roles often include, but are not limited to, Valuation, Product Development, Asset-Liability Management, and Experience Analysis.
We want to hear from you today if you can:
- Be responsible for end to end Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly valuation reporting of Annuity business
- Ensure accuracy of data from valuation and admin systems
- Monitor appropriateness of material ledger items outside of direct valuation control such as premiums, benefit payments, and mortality
- Monitor Reserves to ensure reasonableness and provide clear explanations to the business
- Respond to inquiries from Internal/External auditors, State Insurance department regulators, Internal Revenue Service, Legal team, Parent Company, Finance department, and senior management
- Review of reserve models time to time and the valuation structure for appropriateness & consistency with US GAAP, STAT & Tax reporting
- Identify valuation issues and recommend solutions/opportunities for improvement
- Ensure new products are properly coded and tested in the valuation systems
- Produce clear and concise explanations regarding valuation issues and results
- Establish best practices by creating standard quality controls for the reserving process (SOX, PwC Audit etc.)
- Be responsible for Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) results testing and analysis
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative field
- 3+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (or near ASA) with goal of attaining FSA designation
- Highly detailed oriented with strong analytical problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office especially Access and Excel
- Programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ is preferred
- Experience with actuarial software is required

For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA the base salary range is $103,000-$136,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
